Chicke Fitzgerald
CEO and Founder
Known as the “Guru of Travel Distribution,” Chicke Fitzgerald is a visionary, pundit, and travel industry veteran. Her three decades in the trenches and at the top of the travel industry have brought keen insight into the development of travel’s newest additions: a trip planning process that automatically goes beyond when and where — and — the convergence of planning, mapping and booking online.
Fitzgerald founded LeisureLogix™ to provide a much needed online resource for road travelers after identifying a gap in the online marketplace. The result is technology with superior content and a new buying metaphor that mimics the travel agent conversation and can be applied beyond the road trip sector to other travel segments.
Fitzgerald is also the CEO of Solutionz Group International, a top business travel management and distribution consulting firm that has provided early stage incubation services to LeisureLogix. She has extensive expertise at all levels of travel distribution, including on-line/off-line agency consulting and assistance to in-house corporate travel functions, travel suppliers and global distribution systems, and will bring that experience and business methodologies to LeisureLogix™.
A recognized expert and author on global travel distribution, Fitzgerald has written and published four books on the topic and recently published a white paper on "Marketing to the Forgotten Mass Market". Fitzgerald’s experience includes international business development, especially in the areas of strategic planning and implementation. She has formed numerous joint venture partnerships and start-up companies in the travel distribution arena.
Fitzgerald was Director of Sales and Marketing with SITA, a Paris-based, billion-dollar telecommunications company, where she was responsible for launching an IBM-based reservations service marketed to airlines worldwide. In 1995, following Morgan Stanley’s investment into SITA, Fitzgerald was one of the original founders of Equant, the global travel and transportation firm. Fitzgerald has also held leadership positions at Worldspan and Sabre, leaders in computerized reservation systems for travel.
Fitzgerald is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants. She is the chair of the Travel Sciences advisory board and also holds advisory board positions with TIA’s TravelCom conference, the TravelCom Women’s Forum, and @aquila. She studied at Oral Roberts University and the University of Michigan. She can be contacted at chicke@leisurelogix.com.
